The default domain on SSL must be served on a domain that has a CNAME record. So, most likely, you'll need to set the full domain (www.yourdomain.com) as the default domain. To set the root domain as the default, check Setting the root domain as the default domain.

The root domain should have these two A-records:

• @ → 75.2.70.75
• @ → 99.83.190.102

The www subdomain should have this CNAME record:

• www → proxy-ssl.webflow.com

This is a common issue that is often caused by either not having a default domain chosen OR having the incorrect domain set as default.

To fix this issue, you need to set the full domain (www.domain.com) as the default domain.

1. Go to project settings → hosting → custom domain
2. Set the www version of your domain as the default domain as outlined in this Webflow University article.
3. Publish your site
4. Visit your site and it should work fine. If you still see the issue, try in incognito mode. If the site still shows the error message, just give it a few minutes or clear the browser cache and try again.

SSL certificates are automatically renewed every 90 days. The renewal process generally starts at around one week before the certificate expiry. You do not need to take any action for the process to renew as long as the DNS is continuously pointed to Webflow and the site is loading on Webflow's SSL hosting servers.

This double www in the url error sometimes happens when a default domain ↗ is not set or the DNS records have not propagated fully. Giving it some time and publishing again usually solves this specific issue. Domain changes can take up to 48 hours to complete, and you may experience these intermittent www.www issues during the time that your domain name propagates.

It isn't possible to transfer a domain name to Webflow, as we are not a Domain Registrar.

If you are wanting to transfer your domain away from your current registrar to a new one, you will need to initiate a transfer with the new provider, and obtain the UDAI/Domain Key (or password) from the old provider.

If your DNS provider offers CNAME flattening, ALIAS or ANAME records, you can set your root domain as default. All you have to do is:

1. Add an ANAME or CNAME record for the root domain (host: @)
2. Add a CNAME record for the www subdomain
3. Set the default domain to the root domain
4. Publish your site

This 525 error usually happens when the proxy in Cloudflare is toggled on. When using Cloudflare with Webflow, the Proxy Status needs to be toggled off (to DNS only).

Please go into your Cloudflare settings and check the Proxy Status on all domains that are added to the Webflow dashboard. If they are set to Proxied (orange cloud) you will need to toggle those to DNS only (grey cloud).

You can add up to 50 custom domains to a site at a time.
